Seminar on “Embodied Education and Inclusion” in Reggio Emilia

The Department of Education and Human Sciences at Unimore has organised the study seminar “Embodied Education and Inclusion” at Palazzo Baroni in Reggio Emilia on Friday, 4 April. The event is part of the national seminar series “Embodied Education (EE) – Embodiment and the Educating Community: Literature, Development, and Perspectives.” Embodied Education is an educational approach that integrates mind and body, emphasising the interaction between movement and cognition.

Michele Campanini and Iride Sassi  from Officina educativa and Laura Landi from University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, presented the implication of Widespread Education for teaching and learning highlighting some insights from the Erasmus+ project Widespread School. They explored the connections between Widespread School and embodied cognition, presented Widespread Education as a pedagogical approach and introduced learning opportunities within the context. In the afternoon, during a workshop, participants designed new actions, to be carried out on site and in class, based on the materials collected during Widespread School in Reggio Emilia.
